Bureau County fire departments responded to a house fire before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 1300 block of 2500 East Street in rural Princeton. A call for more firefighters was sent out shortly after the original dispatch. This is a developing story, more information will be reported as it becomes available.

Many people attended Saturday the annual Artisan Market at Hornbaker Gardens in Princeton. The event featured more than 30 artists, live music, food trucks, ice cream and wine tasting, among other activities.
The 10th annual BBQ and Blues festival was celebrated Friday in downtown La Salle. Live music, food and drinks return downtown Saturday for the Jazz'N the Street festival.
Hundreds of people attended the Best of the Illinois Valley event on Thursday at the Auditorium Ballroom in La Salle. Businesses enjoyed food from various local restaurants (voted the best in their categories), photos taken on the red carpet and experienced a 360 rotating camera while being entertained by Fiddlerock! artist Casey McGrath.
A busy intersection in the Illinois Valley is under construction. Crews are replacing Monday the offramp southbound to Interstate 39 at the Interstate 80 interchange. The work will last until most of November. Workers will be patching the ramps and improving the shoulders. Traffic will be redirected to the inner loop of the interchange during the project. Motorists can expect delays.

Stage 212 presents "The Trail to Oregon!" on Sept. 20-22. The production is based off of the classic video game "Oregon Trail." Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
