Marengo's Settlers' Days is returning in October for its 52nd year with more bands and fireworks.

Healing Gardens, a two-acre expanse of woodland and perennial gardens at Stone Hill Farm in St. Charles, will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11.
When you find yourself with seven orphaned chimney swift babies that you’ve raised from nestling size, you head to downtown Geneva for their release. Mark your calendars for the annual Chimney Swift Sits planned Sept. 10 and 16.
Access to the event will cost $6 per person in advance, or $8 per person at the door. All food inside the event is included with admission.
Jazz music will return to downtown St. Charles next month as part of the 11th annual St. Charles Jazz Weekend.
Both sets of pre-movie activities will take place near the concession stand.
