Two years after peak highs, the average sales price of top Illinois farmland saw slight year-over-year declines

After no rain in February, Ogle County farmers saw a steady rain and heavy snow fall onto thawed ground in recent weeks as they approach planting season, Ogle County Farm Bureau Manager Ron Kern said.

The Ogle County Soil & Water Conservation District has opened applications for the 2026 Partners for Conservation cost-share program.

Since two heavy snowstorms hit the area early this winter, Ogle County farmers have been hoping for more moisture to no avail, Ogle County Farm Bureau Manager Ron Kern said Thursday.

Farmer and agribusiness members of the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council’s A-Teams continue to work diligently to develop new markets globally.

“The U.S. Cattlemen’s Association supports affordable food prices for American families. But we do oppose policies or loopholes that manipulate the market to address a solution that will be solved through natural market behavior," Justin Tupper said
