Marengo's Jennifer Heinberg scored a game-high 19 points in a 60-40 win against Richmond-Burton on Thursday in the teams' Kishwaukee River Conference girls basketball game in Richmond.
Heinberg made four 3-pointers for the Indians, who improved to 7-3 and 2-0 in the KRC. Lilly Johnson and Adriana Georgiades scored 10 points apiece for Marengo, Gracie Gentleman had nine points and Alexis Kunde tossed in eight. Johnson had two 3s.
Peyton Bannon paced the Rockets (3-6, 0-2) with 18 points, knocking down a pair of 3s. Rachel Baker added 12 points for R-B, and Carys De Lucia had six.
Carmel 48, Marian Central 26: At Woodstock, the Hurricanes fell to 2-7 and 0-2 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference with a loss to the Corsairs.
WRESTLING
Huntley 66, McHenry 11: At McHenry, the Red Raiders rolled to their 35th consecutive FVC dual victory with nine pins against the Warriors. Jake Jensen (113), Grant Hochmuth (132), Andrew Lira (138), David Ferrante (182) and Matt Burba (285) all recorded first-period pins.
Zack Rogala (106), Jeremy Jakowitsch (145), Rukkus Hunkins (170) and Ryder Hunkins (195) also had pins for the Raiders, and Sam Henkle (120) and Chris Le (126) each won by decision.
Logan Lucas (160) had a first-period pin for McHenry (3-9, 1-2). Brody Hallin (152) won by technical fall, 18-1.
Harvard Triangular: At Harvard, the Hornets improved to 16-2 with wins over Woodstock, 39-36, and Durand co-op, 69-6.
Bailey Livdahl (170) was 2-0 with two pins for Harvard, and Ivan Rosas (126 pounds), Nik Jimenez (126), Brett Lovell (132), Eric Parra (160),and Luis Roman (285) all had pins. Damyan Michel (152) and Bryce Fiegel (120) each won by decision.
Woodstock's Cooper Adams (152), Alex Zange (160), Daniel Cervantes (182) and Jerred Grell (285) won by fall. Clayton Grisolia (113) and Gavin Loiselle (285) won by decision.
The Streaks beat Durand co-op, 60-18, picking up wins from Travis Cote (126), Adams, Zange and Loiselle.
Crystal Lake Central 45, Prairie Ridge 30: At Crystal Lake, the host Tigers pulled out the FVC dual victory over the Wolves. Dillon Carlson (138), Andrew Hopkins (145), Andrew Hudec (220) and Ramon Fuentes (285) recorded pins in the victory for Central.
The Tigers won three matches by forfeit. Ben Butler (132) picked up a win by decision.
Jacobs 61, Hampshire 18: At Algonquin, the Golden Eagles beat the Whip-Purs in the FVC dual. Nathan Larson (152) and M.J. Montenegro (195) each won by pin for Hampshire.
Dundee-Crown 54, Burlington Central 24: At Burlington, the Chargers picked up an FVC dual win over the Rockets. Winning their matches for D-C were Uriel Lopez, Patrick Nowak, Matt Impastato, Amairie Jones, Joahan Cruz, Dominick Poremba, Victor Rivas, Wyatt Griggel, Carter Fitch and Adrian Esparza.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Harvard 48, North Boone 28: At Poplar Grove, Nolan Frenk scored a game-high 18 points, and Damon Mueller tossed in 17 to lead the Hornets (1-5) to their first victory of the season.
Mueller made three 3-pointers for Harvard. Trey Amaya had six points.
Round Lake 58, Woodstock 49: At Woodstock, the Blue Streaks were outscored, 18-8, in the fourth quarter of the nonconference loss to the Panthers. Woodstock (1-5) led, 41-40, after three.
Nick Weber led Woodstock with 14 points, Ethan Patterson had 11 and Ryan Steponaitis added eight. Jeremiah Betts-Moses tossed in seven points.
GIRLS BOWLING
Johnsburg 2,299, McHenry 2,259: At Raymond's Bowl in Johnsburg, Toria Blake rolled a match-high 436 series and a high game of 152 in a 40-pin win for the Skyhawks. Peyton Atwater had a 429 series and a high game of 162 for McHenry.
Huntley 2,405, Belvidere 2,153: At Bowl-Hi Lanes in Huntley, Rachel Pepke rolled a personal-best 238 game in a win for the Red Raiders. Lindsay Spring had a 487 series and a high game of 194, and Cassie Lugo had a 478 series and a high game of 199.
