High school hockey: Crystal Lake South edges Kings

On Sunday, Midas Bacidore scored the game-winning goal with assists from Eric Helm and Michael Helm to give the Crystal Lake South Gators a 3-2 win over the Kings, made up of players from Jacobs, Hampshire, Huntley, Dundee-Crown and Burlington Central.

Michael Helm scored in the first period, assisted by Harrison Hinz, to give the Gators a lead, before Kings scored twice in the second to go on top. Ryan Ringa and Jimmy Giuliano scored for Kings, with assists coming from Alex MacDonald, Ben Wronski, and Hunter Doyle.

Eric Helm then tied the game at two, with an assist from Michael Helm and Jake Hausch, setting up Bacidore to score the winner.

Josh Albrecht made 29 saves in goal for the Gators.
